About From the crowd
From The Crowd is an online magazine, or Zine, all about the crowd or fans experience. After all without fans, where would the music industry be? Everything on this site is brought to you by fans of music. Our goal, is to have people see the musical experience from the fans eyes, or rather, From the Crowd. You may not agree with all of the reviews, but that is the beauty of it, it is that individuals experience. Do you have a different opinion of the same show? Great, let us know!
From the Crowd focuses on artists that will be performing at the venues surrounding or near the ASU campuses: Downtown (Phoenix), Main (Tempe), East (Mesa) and West (Glendale). We have a special focus on local venues that may often be overlooked, that feature up and coming artists.
From the Crowd was designed to help local ASU students and Valley residents to learn about the rich and exciting Arizona music scene. We also want to help promote local music and venues. There is such a great music scene here in Phoenix, Tucson and Flagstaff that is often overlooked. From our experience, it was dificult to find out what is going on in the music community, and many students, especially those on the Downtown campus, felt as though there were missing out on the "college experience" Over the next few semesters, we hope to expand to other campuses and cities as well.
We help promote concerts and interest in the local music scene by informing students at all ASU campuses of music events happening in the area, regardless if they are at Main, East, West or Downtown. Our circulation area is primarily online, the city of Tempe and at all four ASU campuses, which have over 60,000 students in attendance. In this process we are also reaching out to members of the surrounding communities as well. We also have plans to print our Zine and we are currently looking for sponsors.
